Clewiston, Florida

We had to get the oil changed in Clewiston so off we went for a walk. We met some people from Clinton, Ontario and someone again that knew of my Dad from the younger years of dancing. Then off we went to Walmart...meeting people from Forest, Ontario (small world eh).

This a shot of one of my favourite trees in Clewiston along with my favourite man.

Just for a drive

From Lake Okeechobee to South Palm Beach and we didn't see anyone we knew. Last Thursday we went to an RV show and we met someone that knew my Dad (Butch Detweiler) and knew of my Mom's family, he was from Harriston, Ontario

Our day at the flea market

This is called Riverbend Motorhome Park...it is just for A class motorhomes...I can just imagine the cost but I don't think they have line dancing in there clubhouse, we are going to check more into this place it was closed at the time.

Lots of pirate stuff along with old fossils (no I don't mean Rod)
This shot was taken at Shell Factory in Fort Myers...they had many different displays of animal scenes plus shells, shells, shells.

Well guess what Rod wanted to buy...Kyle you might just have to keep the bird a little longer haha. They where beautiful I must admit but spending $1,250 on a bird just isn't in my budget or Rod's.

Friday January 16th

Well today the sun is shining and it is starting to warm up again, 68 degrees although at night we need the heaters plugged in because it really cools off. Saturday we are off to the local flea market in Fort Myers, it sounds like an all day thing which I think I will like. I have finished my rag quilt and now I'm working on some embroidery stuff in between reading and going for walks. I do talk on Skype at least once a day to usually Mom and Dad. Rod on the other hand can't sit still...he has washed the Jeep twice and the motor home roof has been washed twice and waxed, what a busy boy he is.

Sugar cane fields surrounds us like corn fields in Bayfield.

Just a day

This horse loved Rod...and then he had enough...Rod got bit

I haven't told you that we are on the canal, all kinds of boats come and go.
All you golfers can envy us too since the golf course is a putt away, if we had the interest I'm sure it would be heaven. Cost for the golf course is $11 for 9 holes/$15 for 18 holes.

As for Jenna I am thinking of you as you are in the cold...(you drive-thru wench) and I am not lol.
Kevin I am always looking for some new cars to take pics of.
Beth I have tried to convince him to get rid of the socks and no I haven't found Wii fit yet but what an excuse to go shopping today.

Enjoying the sunshine

Well today is a fantastic day and Rod is managing to stay out of trouble...lol...it is a full time job keeping an eye on him and making sure he doesn't get lost. A cold front is moving in on Wednesday so we will be going down to the low 70's. At night we do have the heaters on since it does go down to the high 40's at night and everything is put away because in the morning things are all wet.

The Glades, Moore Haven

In Clubhouse

Up at the Clubhouse

Getting set up

The Glades RV Park
The clubhouse is on the left of the picture, this is what it looks like from the front of the motor home.
Last night I helped with teaching line-dancing with my neighbour next door...had fun.

My Adventure with Rod

Well you are asking yourself why would Debbie take a picture of the Drivers License Bureau...well let me tell you, it all started with Rod cashing a cheque from Lazy Days and the cashier telling him that he doesn't have a valid drivers license. On returning back to the Jeep a tad bit upset to say the least telling me, "You won't believe this!" (I can't really put what he said but that is what he meant)...Rod Charette has been driving without a valid license since his birthday of July 22/08. Yes, we crossed the border with license and no one said anything...WOW is all we can say.
So what do we do???? He has to get a license so that is why the picture...Rod now has a Florida drivers license, they took his Ontario Drivers License so crossing the border might be another story but I think I will deal with that one when I come to that issue & yes the cheque was cashed after we went & talked nicely to the cashier and told her the story. Now since Rod doesn't have photo ID for another 3 weeks hopefully and it is being mailed to Lazy Days since that is where we supposedly live and then forwarded to The Glades in Moore Haven.
Are we having fun yet? Well let me tell you I know Seffner pretty good now and take directions very well, thank goodness I am my Dad's daughter...as for Rod he was still getting lost at Lazy Days.

Our Trip Down to Florida

Well we left Windsor at 3:50 am and crossed the border at 4:30 said good-bye to Tim Hortons.
By 10:30 we arrived in Kentucky at 57 degrees, and the first stop/nap at Walmart, Lenoir City, Tennessee at 5:30 was 75. It just kept getting hotter and hotter with lots on sunshine all around us. We arrived in Altanta at 8:30 and then started looking for a sleeping spot which was a Walmart around 11:00....night night. We left around 6 am and hit the last gas station in Georgia around 8:30, gas is supposedly cheaper in Georgia at $1.76 than in Florida...arrival time at the Florida border was Monday 9 o'clock and the temp was 65 already with a mixture of fog and sunshine. We decided to drive to Lazy Days in Tampa and take advantage of all the free meals and check out all the motor homes, by the afternoon we checked into Rally Park to stay for a couple of nights....sleep was really needed along with hot tub, Cracker Barrel, and maybe a swim.
Tuesday we woke up all rested and ready for anything...shopping was a good thing on my list...my #1 thing I really wanted was a camera simular to what Jenna and Brad have and low and behold I found one.
Tomorrow will be picture taking day so stay tuned.
