Rod wrestling his first alligator

The warm water brought in the Manatees

Never follow Al Hughes, he led us down a path which started out as a marked trail and ending on what looked like a gator trail....

He finally wrestled one....

Burning of sugar cane

Rod making friends...his name is Gator

My lucky star or planet whatever....

Lake Okeechobee

Channels that surround cane fields and orange groves

Burning of sugar cane...then it's out in a matter of minutes

Trip to the Cane Festival

Armidillo time...Rod chased him under a bridge then took the picture.

Sitting with my friends from the Glades RV Park, enjoying the music and the cloggers.

Then they boil it's just like maple syrup

Pressing the cane into a juice

Rod is so happy about his golfbag/chair carrier...although it does look silly he got soooo many compliments on it at the festival....I just giggled because I'm thinking he got this good idea from whacking his head so hard on the motor home the other day.

sugar factory...or stinky factory (not a pleasant smell at all)

braved the elements and stood in the sugar cane with poisonous Bufo toads, snakes and spiders

Old Hwy 27...what a great walking trail...birds, turtles we saw... alligators or cougars we haven't seen yet nor do I want to

All packed up and moved on

Well we have moved on to Crooked Hook RV Park in Clewiston, this place is okay but we are packed right next door to the other motorhomes. Noise is also another problem but it is pretty in here. The pluses are no snow, cold or ice so we will make the best of it and best of all I have internet all the time. Lots to do here and also a craft room to die for with all kinds of ideas not just bead making. We will be back to The Glades RV Park on Friday night since I will still help with line dancing and we have met some wonderful friends, Tuesday night is also special since it is social night.
This past week we went to Lake Wales to check out another park and also Lake Kissimmee State Park.
